What is YouView?
It is an internet TV service that combines the United Kingdom which was formally launched on 4th july 2012. It is a joint venture of BBC, ITV, Channel 4 and Channel 5; Along with three other communication companies Arqiva, BT and Talk Talk. It consists of set top box with an aerial and connected with an internet connection, which will allow consumers to watch television, listen radio, on demand service and internet content
YouView – an internet TV service that combines the UK’s Freeview channels with on-demand content – has been formally launched.
The project was previously known under the working title of Project Canvas, and was branded YouView in September 2010. Although YouView was originally scheduled to launch by the end of 2010, its launch date has been continually revised and TalkTalk began running an in-house trial at the beginning of February 2012.
